Meet the Team
Rebeca Tejada
Masters of Counselling, Registered Provisional Psychologist
Rebeca’s educational background in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario, coupled with a MACP from City University, equips her to draw from evidence-based research about the brain and translate it into compassionate, empathetic, and authentic interactions with children, teens, and their families. She holds specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices.
Rebeca’s experience spans non-profit organizations, where she worked extensively with children and youth, and private practice settings, where she had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and all stages of life.
In her counselling work, Rebeca prioritizes the therapeutic relationship to foster a welcoming and safe environment where individuals can grow and heal by tapping into their unique strengths, experiences, and supportive relationships. She believes that the best outcomes in therapy are achieved by building on what is strong in an individual, rather than focusing on fixing what’s “wrong.”
Miranda Desrochers
MA Counselling Psychology, Registered Psychologist
(Currently has a waitlist for new clients)
Miranda is a Registered Psychologist who is dedicated to helping children, parents, and caregivers feel more connected, confident, and understood. She specializes in working with children and families navigating emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, anxiety, behavioural challenges, and neurodevelopmental differences.
Miranda holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from McGill University and has advanced training in play therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in attachment and developmental science. She believes that behaviour is a form of communication and works closely with families to understand the underlying needs driving a child’s difficulties.
In counselling, Miranda integrates play-based interventions, EMDR, and parent support to help children process big emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen secure relationships. She partners closely with parents, offering practical strategies and insight to support growth at home and school.
In addition to therapy, Miranda provides comprehensive psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments. Her assessments are thorough and strengths-based, designed to clarify learning, attention, emotional, or developmental profiles while offering clear, practical recommendations that empower families and educators.
Miranda is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where children can thrive and families can move forward with clarity and confidence
