It’s common for children to feel worried, have big emotions, and go through difficult phases. In many cases, these challenges are temporary and improve with time and support. However, research shows that some children benefit from additional help when concerns are more persistent, intense, or begin to interfere with daily life.
You might consider reaching out to a child psychologist if your child is experiencing ongoing or intense anxiety or distress, difficulties that interfere with their ability to function at home, school, or with peers, or significant behavioural changes or regressions. And if you’re not sure, you can always reach out for a consultation, and we can help you figure out the best way forward for your family!

Session rates are $235/hour for registered psychologists and $200/hour for registered provisional psychologists. For more information about flat-rate psychological and psychoeducational assessment fees, click here.

“If the day ever came when we were able to accept ourselves and our children exactly as we and they are, then, I believe, we would have come very close to an ultimate understanding of what ‘good’ parenting means.”
